Things to Do in the Surrounding Area

  • Philadelphia is just 45 minutes from Doylestown. Here are some of our recommendations for things to do in Philly:

EAT!! Philadelphia is known for their cheesesteaks so it's a must have when in the city. Pats & Genos are right across the street from each other so be sure to try them both to do a side by side comparison! Bob and I want to hear your opinion on which one is the best! The area that they are located is not the best, so if you want to check out a nicer area in Philly and enjoy a cheesesteak, head to Jims Steaks on South Street. South Street has lots of bars, restaurants and shops.

Brush up on your history knowledge: Visit Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell or take the Constitutional Walking Tour of Philadelphia

Art & Animals: If you want to be like Rocky for a day and run up the 72 steps featured in Rocky movies or browse the art at one of the largest art museums in the US, visit the Philadelphia Art Museum. The Philadelphia Zoo is America's first zoo and is home to more than 1,300 animals.

Much more: Visit the following sites for more ideas on things to do in Philly: www.10best.com and www.gophila.com

  • Atlantic City and all the nightlife and gambling it has to offer is about 2 hours from Doylestown but only about 1 hour from Philadelphia! Visit http://www.atlanticcitynj.com/ for more information.
  • The New Jersey Shore where Bob grew up is about an hour and a half from Doylestown, offering beautiful beaches and boardwalks. Visit http://www.visitnjshore.com/ for more information.
